Re: University Starters 2015-->
I'm having a whale of a time, thanks for asking - I wonder how many of us have time to lurk in this forum any more though as the workload is pretty full on! I'm doing mental health nursing, and honestly having the time of my life so far. I've made lots of new friends, joined a meditation group, and ...

Re: Older men in mental health nursing?
Just as a follow-up to this post, in case others are in a similar position. I am now a month into Uni doing mental health nursing. About a quarter of our cohort are male, of a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. I don't think any of the men are over 40, but if one was they would certainly not be out o...

Re: June Moderation 2015
I also missed the emails, and have a hotmail account. I did see the information about transcripts on facebook, and so emailed 'exams' ten days ago for one. I was told the transcripts weren't yet available from Open Awards, and I haven't since heard more. Can anyone tell me when they may be available...

Re: How long did it take you to do the access course?
I'm just about finished, just my psychology exam left (pending my last couple of modules being marked and passed off) and it's taken me 11 months. That's as a single parent with two young children, with all grades so far at distinction. Plus I took extra modules and a separate college based counsell...

You've probably figured it out by now, but it's referring to Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment, to use in your answer:

Re: Options if I don't get the required grades
I did a couple of level 2 units, and later replaced them with level 3 ones when I discovered it was possible to do 60 lvl 3 credits. I chose to take both lvl3 english units and three additional psychology units instead of level 2s. I currently have 42 distinctions, 3 credits, and 15 credits left to ...

Re: I just got my offer!
Hi Michelle, how are you getting on with your UCAS application now? Any interviews booked? My selection day started with them giving us a presentation on the course and placements etc. Then the maths and english tests. Then we had a break, and those who didn't pass got sent home (plus one girl who r...

I have just ordered this off the back of someone else's recommendation earlier this evening!
Hope it is as good as the reviews - and doesn't detract too much from my study time

Re: Older men in mental health nursing?
I recently had a uni interview for mental health nursing. I was really surprised that out of the 20 candidates on my selection day, there were only three under age 21. The remaining 17 all looked to be over about 30, with several rather older than myself (I'm 37). The other surprise was that 14 of t...

Re: Confussed ILP
It's your Individual Learning Plan.
Log in to the DLC website, then from the menu on the left select 'my coursework' then 'Course Materials'. Then select your qualification (probably Access to HE Ascentis) and you'll see the ILPs there to be downloaded, filled in and uploaded.

Re: University interviews?
I got my interview offer within a week, but I believe it can vary massively. Often they collect applications until they have a batch they want to interview and send them out en masse.
Good luck
