Robin, please could you confirm what the criteria is asking for.
I had made a plan for the essay which included body nechanisms underlying stress including emotional responses, CNS, FIGHT OR FLIGHT & ACTH /CRF, and the three phases of Selye's adaption syndrome and was going to address how this would impact on the person (ie damage)
but the criteria 3.2 & 3.3 includes source and treatment. I didn't get this from the title but are we supposed to add equal weight to source/treatment as I had initially thought that the mechanisms were the main body of the essay. (I ask because I have started to get my bio back and although I am meeting the criteria, I am not going into enough depth)
Many thanks
Chris
Essay TQ 4
Re: Essay TQ 4
Hi Chris
Just a quickie, isn't there a second essay in this assignment? I think there was a typo, so it looked like another TAQ4? Something along the lines of 'Stress is the Monkey on the back of Western society'. You cover off sources and treatment in this second essay. Easy to miss if you're not careful. So the first essay, I focused on the mechanisms, pretty much as you have listed and the second essay I focused on sources and treatment.
Hope this helps
Becky

Re: Essay TQ 4
Sounds tough, but I'm sure you'll do it
Just think that in a week it'll all be over. There's loads of resources for both the essays. If you'd like a pointer to some websites I used, just let me know.
Good luck

Re: Essay TQ 4
Hi Chris
I focused on the difference between Eastern and Western approaches to stress management and found this paper useful:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article ... 16/?page=1
Additional websites I used to discuss the causes of stress and ways to manage stress were:
http://www.bupa.co.uk/individuals/healt ... y/s/stress
http://www.britac.ac.uk/policy/Stress-at-Work.cfm http://www.mind.org.uk/help/medical_and ... epressants
http://www.monroeinstitute.org/journal/ ... oculation/ http://www.hse.gov.uk/stress/furtheradvice/wrs.htm
http://www.apa.org/divisions/div12/rev_ ... tress.html
A lot of reading, but you should find plenty of things you want to talk about!
Hope this helps
