Hi i am preparing to do my observation and was wondering if it has to be females touching males and males touching females or can it be females touching females and males touching males. Also does it have to be relationship touching or can it be friendship and business people?

You are testing earlier studies of gender differences in touching behaviour. So you need to observe couples to see for example, if males really do appear to touch more than females or is it the other way round.
Keep the methodology simple and clearly define your aims.
