Hello all
Just wondered if any one could shed some light.
On the assessment criteria sheet for the Advanced Personal Development essay, there are merit and distinction criterias underneath each criteria, and then the usual DLC ones about application of knowledge etc. on a different sheet. Does any one know which applies? Or is it both? It's the first essay I''ve come across where there's been criteria on the first sheet.
Hope this makes sense
Thank you

Re: Merit/Distinction criteria APD essay.
Yes, the criteria sheet is from QAA which is the same for all the grading criteria you may be using, but these do not make a lot of sense so we have given you help for a pass you need to do this.... i.e. the assessment criterion but if you want to hit the grading criterion for a merit or distinction you need to do this.
The problem with the grading criterion is that it is so general that students do not know what to do to meet it so therefore the extra info is on there.
I do hope that this helps

Thanks Karen, that does make sense.
Still a bit concerned about the word count but will see how I go today and cut out what I can, just want to make sure I can still get enough detail in.
Thank you
