HI

can anyone tell me if this essay has to be personal and if so does it need to be written in the first person or not? Have emailed my tutor about it and he said yes in first person in one reply and then another reply he said not in the first person!!!! totally confused and wasting time!!!!

When you are speaking about yourself it can be in the first person, but when you are backing up your ideas from theorists it is in the third person, so both your tutors answers was right.
