*Substantive topics* taq's 1&2

Post by abbeyleighb »

so I think I know what I need to do here but just wanted to double check before starting as its the weekend so unable to get a hold of tutor.

column 1: concept... do I identify the concept from my chosen area and give a brief description?
Column 2: explanation: explain how the chosen concept explains cognitive development as well as provide strengths and weaknesses of the theory??

then do the same for TAQ2 ?

Hope that makes sense.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks,

Abbey

Hi Abbey

TAQ 1:
So, column 1 .. Identify your chosen concept.. use a brief explanation of the term - probably less than 20 words!
Column 2 .. Concept explanation.. this is where you get a chance to get in the rest of the criteria.

Hope that helps.

Explain it rather than evaluate it.

TAQ 2:
Chose one theory which you will then either support or refute in your evaluation!

Hope this helps you

Thanks Karen,

so to confirm, when explaining the concept; stages of development, do I explain how Piaget's four stages explain cognitive development?

many thanks,

Abbey

Hi Abbey
Yes you could give Piagets 4 stages as an example of this! TAQ 1 is quite brief - just explanations of the concepts - evaluation comes in TAQ 2
