TAQ 2 - OCD essay perspectives

Post by JRobbo »

Is anyone online who has done this essay?! I've posted in another post but its an older one so I'm not sure if anyone will see it!

I'm writing about all 4 perspectives in relation to OCD but I'm going waaaaaay over my wordcount - should I only be focusing on the cognitive and biological perspectives as mentioned in the case study?

I'm also having issues with my referencing - I've done a harvard reference for my text book and included in text referencing when mentioning studies etc - is that enough though as I'm working a lot off my own notes from the work materials?

Thanks,

Jill

Hi Jill,

I haven't done this particular module myself...so just replying in response to the question about referencing.

Using any materials from the DLC does not require referencing in your TAQ (as has been mentioned on the forums in the past) - but does not harm to reference as good practice for Higher Education!

Here's an example to get you on the right track...

Mr. Smith believes that this behaviour is linked with the diet of an ape (DLCentre, 2012).
Mr. Smith (DLCentre, 2012), believes that this behaviour is linked with the diet of an ape.
DLCentre (2012) states that Mr. Smith believes that this behaviour is linked with the diet of an ape.

Reference List
DLCentre, 2012. Unit 4: Ape Behaviour. [online] Available at: <http://www.distancelearningcentre.com/units.php> [Accessed 02 July 2015].

(RANDOM)

Also, use this website to your advantage. Some brilliant advice and help for making good Harvard References - http://libweb.anglia.ac.uk/referencing/harvard.htm

Hope you get more answers for your other queries! All the best

Hi Jill
You don't need to include all 4 perspectives in your response, you could pick 2 or 3 of them that you think apply best to Dianes case

Hi
Put simply the question is asking you to evaluate treatments for OCD.
You should pick 2 or three treatments - from different perspectives and evaluate them i.e. discuss their strengths and weaknesses. If you can link this evaluation to Diane - would the treatment work well for her?
Hope this helps :D
