TAQ 1 a)
Hi guys.
Really hope you can help me.
I've been looking at this question for a while
Key characteristics of the perspective used to explain the cause of OCD?
For example i used Psychodynamic as psychological perspective and used isolation, undoing and reaction formation?
are these characteristics?
and then to analyse them do i go into detail about them?
Thank youuuu
Really hope you can help me.

Hi Casey

Hope this helps
Good luck

Hi Casey
How are you doing with this? The key characteristic of the Psychodynamic approach is links to the unconscious so make sure that is evident in what you are saying. Then like Karen said for the analysis elaborate on the strengths and weaknesses - is this approach offering a good explanation for OCD?

With the data gathering you need to write how the theorist provided the information, example interview, observations.

Hi Casey
Every piece of research has a research method - examples would be case study, lab experiment, field experiment, observation, questionnaire, interview
TAQ1b is asking you to evaluate this. The research method is the way the data is being gathered
Hope this helps - good luck

What is it about TAQ 1a are you not understanding?
In the first column you just need to: - explain how perspectives explain OCD
In the second column you just need to: - analyse how effective this explanation
Hope this helps you

Re: TAQ 1 a)
So for example, conditioning for behaviourist perspective? would I use this bit to right an example or is that not necessary? for the analysis do I just evaluate strengths and weaknesses?

Hi Emma
Yes this would be a key characteristic. For the analysis think about whether this perspetitve is offering an effective explanation of OCD and why
