Academic writing skills assessment.

Post by dmoss90 »

Hi,

I've hit a brick wall with my academic writing skills assessment.

My tutor states I have the correct key areas but I just cant get my head around where to start.

I have the following to include..
Introduction
Ethics, mental health and restraint
explain ethical theories
explain types of restraint
apply theories to case study
human rights/death statistics
how healthcare workers feel about restraint in their field
conclusion

If anyone could give me any pointers it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks, I did have a read through the other posts before posting my own.

I know what I need to include, just hit a blank with how to approach it.

Hi
First thing I always to write out the title and I keep looking at it , so I know not to stray away into anything else .
Then I would introduce the topic remembering of course not to say "I" I may start by saying what restraint is and say for the propose of this essay physical restraint is going to be used , and say what that is . (I would define physical restraint) I would then say what we mean by someone experiencing mental health issues (I would look at a definition of this as well using a reference).
Then I get my teeth into the nitty gritty of ethical theories and restraint of people with mental illness
Do not forget to Harvard reference all the way through your essay

Hope that this helps
