How to prepare a presentation study skills.. midwifery

Post by danielle-midwifery »

Hi :)

Im just wondering if anybody is studying Allied Health? I'm wanting to be a midwife and just on my second assignment and I am having to research into something relating to midwifery...

Has anyone done this? Just looking for some kind of inspiration on how to get started with this please?

Thank you

Hi Danielle,

I've done research as part of the Access to Paramedicine diploma that I'm sure will follow a very similar method to what you're doing.

Are there any particular areas you want to ask questions on? Is it presentation? Obtaining evidence? The assignment itself?

Happy to help as much as I can - although I know there're plenty of other students out there that will be able to help you more specifically, who are also doing the Midwifery course

Hi Danielle - on page 5 there's a list of suggested topics. Do any of these interest you?

Hi Danielle

I'm currently studying the Access to Midwifery. I'm happy to hand out any suggestions if I am able to, but I'm not sure which assessment you are actually on.

Hi everybody thank you for replying to my post.

I am researching into improving the rates of home birth and just need a little guidance. I am just preparing my presentation but struggling to find the information I need on the internet as it isn't up to date for the current year :)

Thank you :)

Hi

I've just started allied health, but I'm afraid I can't help as you are ahead of me. Be good to see how you progress though :)

All Government figures are always at least one year behind often more so no one will have a problem if you use the most up to date figures you can find as long as you say in your presentation something like 'current published figures'

A few links for thought:

https://www.rcm.org.uk/tags/home-birth <-- Some interesting Articles
http://www.homebirth.org.uk <-- A well collated index of research on home birth
http://mana.org/blog/home-birth-safety-outcomes <-- Interesting read from 2014
http://www.nhs.uk/news/2011/11November/ ... pared.aspx <--Risks of Home Birth etc. written in 2011 (last 5 years is always a good time frame to look at)
http://www.nhs.uk/news/2014/12December/ ... -mums.aspx <-- Article written by NICE, published at the end of 2014.

These URL's may or may not be of any use for you. But maybe they will be able to ignite some sparks and help with your research

All the best
