TAQ 5 - Similarities

Hi guys

Can anyone give me a helping hand?? I am completing TAQ 5 of Pathogens and disease. I have managed to find lots of differences between, Natural and acquired immunity and active and passive immunity. But I struggling to find an similarities apart from the fact that they all fight disease!?!??!!

Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated!!!

Hi Anna,

There are small sections in Tortora & Grabowski that give basic ideas and knowledge on the similarities and differences between the different types of immunity. Also, check out these websites for a bit of guidance too.

There are certainly more differences than similarities, so I focused on those mainly. But think about the actual processes of immunity - how is Natural & Acquired similar? How is Active & Passive similar? How do the different types of immunity actually fight pathogens..... (Are the pathogens engulfed? Are they immobilised? How do the processes actually work and in what similar way?)
