I haven't included anything that would need to go into the appendix, do I miss it out or do I put in a blank page?

You don't have to have an appendix - they are only there so you can add things that add to your essay, but you couldn't put in. Eg an article, graph, picture etc. BUT one of the criteria is to use imagery, so I would just pop in a graph or something so you cover that criteria. If that's not possible your tutor can say that you got imagery across through your writing (a bit less concrete than actually having a picture, but that's fine). Don't leave a blank page though if you don't have one.
