Just thought i'd give you all an update!

Find out what happens after the course. What is it like at University? What about careers after that.

Just thought i'd give you all an update!

Post by ~keeley~ »

I'm now 15 weeks into my midwifery course and loving it, although it has been abit hard at times and i did think about giving up afew weeks ago. Some staff at the hospital are abit    lol But i've decided i'm not going to leave because of other people putting a downer on things!

Well, so far i have:

Witnessed 3 births (one a waterbirth)
Done countless PKU's (heel prick test)
Took bloods from mum twice
Checked millions of blood pressures, urine, temp and pulses!
Palpated loads of abdomens

And loads of other bits and pieces in between! :D

Hi Keeley,

It's so nice to hear how you're getting on now that you're in there!

Keep the updates coming.

I stopped with the DLC program last year as I wasn't sure I could 'stomach' midwifery (the gore etc), but I haven't been able to not think about it. So I'm going to at least give it a go - I owe myself that much. Now on to stats... awww man!

Well done for sticking at it. How do you cope with the childcare, I ask as I am hoping to go to uni in 2010 and have 6 possibly 7 children to work around

Hi Im thinking of starting this DLC course with a view to going into midwifery. I was just wondering what your university time table is like? If I go in for midwifery then I may have to work part time to help pay my mortgage. Do you think this would be possible do maybe evenings/weekends?
